Meet Foz! The newest member of our ME comms gang!
Earlier this month, ME comms welcomed a new team member, Foely Smith! Foely has joined the ME comms team alongside studying Fashion Marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University. She has a wealth of experience working with some mega brands such as Caprice Holdings and Coya on their PR and marketing strategies.
We wanted to get to know Foely a little better so asked her a few questions about her experience and why she joined ME comms.
Hey Foely! Welcome to the team. So excited to be working with you. Why did you decide to pursue a career in marketing?
Thanks so much, I’m super excited to be here too!
I was lucky enough to move to London for a few months when I turned eighteen, where I worked alongside the marketing and PR team for a big hospitality company, and I absolutely loved it. The fast-paced environment and the chance to tackle a new creative challenge everyday enticed me. Now that I’m studying fashion marketing at uni, my passion for the industry has continued to grow.
I am so excited to be gaining further experience in marketing, especially at ME comms, where I can work alongside a talented team and diverse range of clients. This role is the perfect opportunity for me to put everything I’ve learned so far into practice. I can’t wait to get stuck into new challenges, build relationships and make a real impact on the projects I’m involved in.
What has been your favorite thing about the last couple of weeks at ME comms?
The last few weeks have been a lot of fun, it’s been amazing getting to know the clients and seeing how the business operates behind the scenes. Both Ell and Millie have been so welcoming, and it’s great to be a part of the ME comms team. 🙂 I’m really looking forward to gaining more experience in the marketing industry and diving into Manchester’s networking scene.
One of the highlights so far has been shooting content at the Foundation 92 charity golf day. The weather was perfect, and I even got to drive a golf cart for the first time, which was such a fun experience! I also had the opportunity to support the PR for the Scare City launch event – definitely spooky, but so exciting – the perfect way to kick off a cold and cozy Autumn!
I can’t wait to see what the Christmas season has to offer…
Do you feel your fashion marketing degree has helped you when working on everyday tasks at ME comms?
Absolutely! My fashion marketing degree has definitely come in handy. It’s given me a solid foundation in things such as brand strategy, market research, social media, and understanding target audiences, which are all necessary for day-to-day tasks at ME comms. The course has also taught me a lot about balancing creativity with data-driven decisions, pushing me to think outside the box when it comes to content ideas and client work. I feel very fortunate to be gaining experience in the industry alongside my degree
What are you hoping to achieve by working at ME comms?
By working at ME comms, I’m hoping to grow both professionally and creatively. I want to sharpen my skills in PR and marketing, especially when it comes to managing client relationships and running successful campaigns. I am also excited to gain more hands-on experience with content creation and social media strategy, identifying what works best for different brands.
It’s been amazing learning from both Ell and Millie, and I’m looking forward to their mentorship as I navigate the marketing industry and build a strong network in Manchester. I am eager to make a real impact on the projects I work on and contribute to the ongoing success of the agency.
We are so excited to welcome Foely to the team. Drop her an email on [email protected] to say hey!
